Stephen Ministry Program for St. Barnabas

St. Barnabas is launching a new program, beginning this year, to care for our members. Stephen Ministry offers a proven and effective way to organize, equip, and supervise a team of congregation members—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, one-to-one, Christ-centered care to people in the congregation experiencing life difficulties.

St. Barnabas has already begun this ministry by investing in the training of two Stephen Ministry Leaders (Rev. Deb Fergus and Kirk Murray), and now is ready to invest in training more of our members as Stephen Ministers. The training will begin this September.

Every day we see people who are hurting: those who have lost a job, have lost a loved one, have gone through a divorce, or maybe are battling an illness. Our Stephen Ministers will be trained as God’s representatives to bring his love to those in situations like these.

In that regard - here's a question for you to ponder: Is God calling you to take a more active role in our congregation by serving others in need? If the answer is Yes or Maybe, then Stephen Ministry may be just what you’re looking for.

To find out more or if you have any questions, please contact us or visit the Stephen Ministries website.
