Welcome our new staff members - Alex and Victoria

Alex Mills - Digital Storyteller and Communications Assistant

Alex has a Bachelor of Arts degree in film and media production from Capital University and has previously worked as the audio video engineer for Capital’s Center for Faith and Learning and as Director of Communications for All Saints Lutheran Church in Worthington, Ohio. Alex has a passion for all things audio visual and enjoys finding ways to intertwine his gifts with meaningful life-giving work.

What excites you about working at St. Barnabas?

The opportunity to combine my love of video and to help people find community through online media. It can be scary to enter a church for the first time and I like the idea that video makes it more accessible. It can help people know that they are welcome before they even walk in.

Did you grow up going to church?

Yes, I grew up in Dayton, Ohio. My dad was a Methodist pastor for over 20 years, and my sister is Lutheran pastor. Supporting faith communities has been an important part of my life.

What do you do for fun?

I enjoy all sports and am a big fan of the Cincinnati Reds. My girlfriend is getting me into Liverpool soccer.

Victoria Parks - Finance Administrator

Victoria has held several positions in the financial field. She served as treasurer at the Greene School PTO and the Sycamore Jr. High PTO. She also works for Montgomery Animal Hospital doing bookkeeping. She lived in Washington, D.C. for many years before she and her husband, Gordon, moved to the Montgomery area in 2005.

What do you do for fun?

I have a passion for sports, especially hockey and football. My son, who is a senior at the University of Tennessee played hockey since he was 6 years old. I am still learning to appreciate SEC football.

What excites you about working at St. Barnabas?

Well, I have always loved a red door, and I actually have a red door at my house. I previously attended St. Barnabas when my son was younger and was drawn to the church because of its red door.

I also love spreadsheets and keeping things in order. I am excited to be part of a team and to work to collaborate with others doing different kinds of work to support the church. I am an extrovert and love getting to know people. I am looking forward to getting to know the people of St. Barnabas!
