Richard (Dick) Davis and his wife Merrily have been a part of the fabric of St. Barnabas since 1983. Raising their family here, all three generations continue to share their time, talent, and treasure to shape the past, present, and future of St. Barnabas.

In our third week of shining a spotlight on St. Barnabas members, we discover two people who have created safe spaces for people to work, play and live with each other.

All the presents are unwrapped, decorations are going back to the basement and resolutions are in full swing. As the new year unfolds before us, I wonder….what gifts are waiting to be opened in 2024.

Author and St. Barnabas parishioner, Louise Borden, has spent the last 33 years creating stories that feature ordinary people who do amazing things. A prolific children's book creative, Louise has published thirty-two books including some that have won awards or been translated into other languages.

If you are around St. Barnabas during the week you may run into a quiet unassuming man wearing an In-n-Out Burger T-shirt who is busy fixing something on our unending to do list. This man is David Browe and he blesses us each week with his wisdom and Mr. Fix-it Skills. Since 2015, he has been the eyes and ears of Buildings and Grounds and the fearless leader of our Termites. His expertise, patience, and passion for restoring not only our space, but his treasured classic cars makes him a perfect candidate for our next Gallery Exhibit.

During the 2023 Women's Retreat, Rev. Jane invited everyone to explore their inner self through the practice of Soul Collage. This month, we are honored to offer the personal collages from women in our congregation on the Art Exhibit wall.

The Ancient Greek noun tektōn is a common term for an artisan/craftsman, in particular a carpenter, woodworker, or builder. In Matthew 13:55 we find that Jesus was the son of a carpenter which would make Joseph and Jesus the sort of men you called when something needs to be fixed.

This month we are celebrating the talent of Marius Chertock. Born into a multi-talented family, Marius has found his own passion and talent in the Art of Animation.

When Kirk Murray was in the Air Force and achieved the rank of captain, it’s no surprise that everyone called him Captain Kirk. The name needs no explanation, but if you’ve lived in a cave for the past 56 years, Captain Kirk was the chief officer on the Star Trek starship Enterprise.

As our Director of Children and Family Ministries Erika has filled our lives with creativity and love. And now we have an opportunity to see the passion she exudes through her watercolor paintings.
